The Juice Fm Style Awards- The Winners.

Liverpool WAG, Alex Gerrard and Everton player Mike Arteta were certainly celebrating style this weekend– as they picked up the Most Stylish Scouser and Most Stylish Sporting Star gongs at the annual Juice FM Style Awards event, sponsored by Contessa Hotels, held at the breathtaking Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on Saturday 23rd October.
The Saturdays, The Wanted, Diana Vickers and Alex Gardner provided the musical backdrop for the awards ceremony as three hundred guests attended to celebrate the best in Liverpool’s music, fashion, culture, sport and style.

The wanted Wearing a combination of Topman, D&G and All Saints.
The Satarday's all donning Jasper Garvida
Alex wearing Elizabeth and James, Justine Mill's wears Lanvin and Sheree Murphy wears Rolland Mouret.
Faye From Roja Boutique, Winner of Up and Coming. See my Roja fashion shoot.
Topshop Staff. Winners of the Retail award.
Er hello! Get out my way, pap man!

107.6 Juice FM listeners nominated and voted online in seventeen categories ranging from Liverpool Street Style, Best Bar, Best Restaurant and the Music Award which was won by The Saturdays – following their recent chart successes.
Alex Gerrard proudly accepted the Most Stylish Scouser award on the night, which was presented by Justine Mills from Cricket alongside the members of The Saturdays – while her other half received the coveted Most Stylish Icon Award. The Most Stylish Sporting Star, which was won by Everton FC’s Mikel Arteta was unable to attend on the night, and the award was picked up by Jose Baxter from Everton FC.
The event also raised money for Alder Hay Imagine Appeal and Marie Curie Cancer Research via a silent raffle.
Adam Weighell, Juice FM Breakfast Show presenter said “Other notable guests on the evening included numerous cast members from Hollyoaks, Eastenders and Waterloo Road. Many of the local WAG’s also joined in the celebrations on the night – making it one of the most successful Juice FM Style Awards to date. I can’t wait for next year already!”.

Thanks to my glamourous assistants. Hannah for tweeting the event live and Amy Faith for covering the pics on stage and the red carpet.

Matt Ford- A retrospective. Fashion outside the capital. A photographic exhibition.

There is exactly a month to go until the Liverpool Design Festival 2010 opens for a second year.

If you have read further down my blog you will know i've been asked to put on a exhibition based on the ongoing work I do with the talented Liverpool designers that are making waves on the fashion scene.

I've already searched my archives for some of my favourite images and I'm also putting together a collection of new exclusive ones to show alongside. If you want to know more about the photography exhibition take a look at the facebook event page for Matt Ford- A retrospective. Fashion outside the Capital.

The Justice Vogue Ball. (only 2 weeks left to get your tickets)

This is definitely in my top five favourite pictures that I took this year and the event is going to be unreal. Can't wait..

On the 29th of October 2010 the Vogue Ball will return to Liverpool by very popular demand for an even bigger night of hedonism! With the famous dance off competitions, celebrity judges, catwalks and more, its literally set to blow the roof off!

Click flyers to read info close-up or visit the House of Suarez page and look at events for info on where to get tickets.

I've started doing mini video clips back stage at all the new shoots I'm doing for my exhibition in November. I will post the montage during the event. I'm also a day away from launching the facebook event page with all the info about the exhibition on so watch this space.

Knit wits.

We all love a bit of comedy knit wear. Well I know I do anyway and I don't just mean on Christmas day off your nan. With miserable cold days on the way and the usual subdued colour pallet of A/Ws apparel, our wardrobes could do with a much needed splash of fun.

Take my new chunky knit smiley face hat from River Island, with it's black wool bobble at the top (just out of shot) and my 'blag glasses', it takes the geek chic look to another level. Ok I look a little train spotterish but what the hell. I like it! However if you cut the bobble out and take the glasses off, (which I did. Due to the fact Im not actually blind) you create a totally different look. A lot more wearable for the less adventurous but still a cute style statement.

If you want to take it one step further take a look downstairs in Resurrection Bold Street at their latest selection of retro knits. They're a perfectly cozy way to brighten up a lazy Sunday afternoon.

These three guys wearing them in the picture are from the band Juice. They are a Pop/Rock band based in North England. With influences from some of the biggest guilty pleasures this side of the Millennium. For instance McFLY, Busted, Fall Out Boy and Paramour. To avoid the cliché 'king of Leon' check shirt look, that's now become a staple rather then a just a trend, we decided to brave this look on one of the shots. Probably not their first choice but they don't take them selves too seriously so they can definitely get away with it!

I've had a quick look to see what the high street retailers have on offer this year, the Urban Outfitters black and white 'french sailor' look isn't quite comedy but I just love the slightly animated feel to it. Very J.P.G.
The girls selection I've chose from is a lot more style conscious, so you can still look sophisticated and have fun with it.

Be the face of Liverpool with Voodou and Juice FM.

I've just come back from judging the first heat of 'Face of Liverpool' with Juice FM and Voodou hairdressing. This is a new award at the Juice FM Style Awards. It will celebrate good looks and attitude on the streets of our City.
DJ Baz Todd has entered after unfortunately not getting in enough votes from his listeners for the most stylish award. Better luck this time!

We've already found some possible winners but there's another heat that will be held at the Button Street Voodou on Satarday 9th October, so your still in with a chance. You can also enter online at www.juicefm.com/style

The winner gets 2 free tickets to the Awards and will be announced at the Star-studded event on the 23rd October.
They also get a photo shoot with noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker, only messing it's me! The shoot will be used to promote the well known Liverpool hairdressing brand for the next year.

The Juice FM Style Awards 2010 nomination are..

...Drum roll please...

It was a short, sweet but glam opening to the Juice Fm style Awards last night.
Sakura hosted the nomination ceremony this year and provided plenty of champagne and sushi. Reason enough to go to in my eyes!

After a cheeky glass them selves, breakfast hosts Adam Weighell and Leanne Campbell revealed the nominations. But before I tell you about that I'll tell you about the celebs that have confirmed for the actual Awards.
The Satardays, The Wanted, Diane Vicars will all be performing and pop newcomer Alex Gardener will return for the second year.
Last year I papped supper stylish Alex Curren, Scouse It girl Amanda Harrington and a myriad of Hollyoakers.

The best news though is (I would say this) all the celebs and award winners will be posing for pictures back stage for my 'live fashion shoot' which my trusty assistant Hannah Ramsey will be tweeting along with any gossip during the show. Let's leave the papping to the paps eh!
Hannah, the walking encyclopaedia for fashion, will also be posting where all the hot outfits are from.
