'For the Love of it!' Backstage interview with models Erica and Greta.

Photo taken upstairs at Gusto. Before the Private Ladies Lunch and Kirsty Doyle Fashion Show.
With modelling seeming to be the favourite past time of so many scouse girls and all of them clambering to get the best job's. I wonder with often little or no budget to pay them, why they do it? Now don't get me wrong, I've worked on shoots and the model can earn up to £400 after the agencies commission. So it can be well worth pursuing on a financial bases. One agency in Liverpool wont even book models for a show for any less than £250 each.

A few modelling agency I know have over 100 working models on the books. Surely there can't be that much money in the pot to keep them all in brand new hair extensions and Christian Louboutin's?

Erica (left), Has worked on fashion shows for House of Suga, Clothes show live and Matalan, plus shoots for Lifestyle magazine and The picture Mill (Manchester) She tells me only one of these Jobs has been a paid one.

Matt, ''So why do it then? Does it not bother you not being paid?''

Erica, '' I'm not bothered about not being paid, I'm more happy just to get my name out there for now, and see what happens. I have plans to start my own business, be my own boss and actually use my brain. Modelling is just a side line, that I would love to make some good money out of it when i'm more established.
For now I just love being able to say I've worked with this Boutique or that designer. Plus I get a buzz when all eyes are on my on the catwalk.''

Matt,  ''Do you think some girls take it too seriously?''

Erica, ''When I first started working on shows I expected there to be a bitchy atmosphere and some seriously ego's. There have been a few encounters of girls who are a bit above them selves and actually think there gonna be the new Kate Moss, but generally its a fun atmosphere and not as bad as I feared. So now I do it just because I love it''

A month in pictures. Races/Fashion/Wags/models/dancers and even a cheeky pic of the Queen...

So much to say... so little time...

Its been a very busy month... well apart from my very lazy week in the Balearic Island. While there I got the chance to chat fashion with David Leavens, who until 2 years ago was the Managing Director of Nicole Farhi for 22 years. I later asked if he would mind doing an interview for my blog, so keep your eye out for that on here. Any one who wants to get into fashion, it's a great insight to how the industry has evolved over the years and how to get ahead in fashion.

There of course was also a little time for some fun..

..

So photo wise back in sunny Liverpool I've been shooting some new shots for Voodou hairdressers and along the way discovered some fabulous new modelling talent, Matt King who has been snapped up by Pulse Models...

This was for their website.

Matt King (above) will also feature in the denim shoot that's gonna be posted on here later this week. The other shot is for Voodou's Wella Colour Comp entry. (since this post was written, Ro from Voodou has informed me the entry has been the only one from Liverpool to get through to the final.)

..
I've also been working with Moneynorth doing some rather sexy press shots for Chantelle Tagoe, the beautiful girlfriend of football striker Emile Heskey.  Here's a little preview....
..

Kirsty Doyle added 7 new pieces to her Spring/Summer 2010 collection so here is the shoot for them. They are all available to buy in her Liverpool one store.

..
Did anyone go to the races? I'll have to admit there were one or two fashion atrocities present. Come on Liverpool you can do  better then that. It was more like a fancy dress party than a fashionable day out. p.s. Thanks for all your support Daily Mail.
Not all was bad though, there were a few triumphs of style. All though the best dressed winner seemed to lack any imagination in her style unfortunately proving less really is more.
Here are a few of the photos I took during the Matalan fashion event I worked on. I'll let you decide what's fabulous or freighting......

This Lady is wearing a rather fetching garden on her head. They really should have a best hat competition. Winner!

Celebrity Judges....

Oh and the Queen.

Some good old fashion scouse girls!

Pimms O'clock?

Arrr bless.

The Matalan fashion show.

Anyone for Croquet?

This is gonna make for some interesting tan lines!

..and is a snip-it from my Select Magazine Fashion shoot featuring Races Fashion shot at Mal Maison..

..

Then after this it was back to the studio to shoot the new press shot for the forthcoming Justice Ball.
If anyone went the the Vogue ball at during the Homotopia festival a few years back then the concept is back with a bang. It will be a evening of overt, outrageous and hopefully shocking dance off's between some of the best acts in Britain. The best will surly be crowned the King or more aptly Queen of the Ball.
The event will be sometime around October somewhere in Liverpool. The evening will be presented by House of Suarez. Contact him for more Info.

..

I've been working with fashions future stars again. This time Rosa Masters from Uclan. This shoot is based on all those spoilt little rich girls in L.A. and features some items only available in the USA at the moment.

Well thats enough for now. Don't forget to keep you eye out for the denim shoot later this week.
